Brendon is a creative eleven year old from Fairfield County, Connecticut. He gets along with just everyone and keeps a very positive and open mind despite his life-threatening medical condition.  He enjoys math class, playing soccer with his friends and watching Patriots games with his family. Above anything, Brendon loves being creative and developing his individuality.

When questioned about his one true wish, Brendon had three choices in mind but in the end he wished for a bedroom makeover with pets…a place to be independent, a place to escape with loveable pets, and a place to make his own.  Brendon’s wish came true in the ultimate fashion.  He received a new loft bed, desk, freshly painted walls, a wall mural and extras. He was escorted in a stretch limo to the pet store where he got to choose two, little baby guinea pigs and one rare blue parakeet – all girls.  Little did he know that one of the guinea pigs was pregnant and would grant Brendon with yet another pet!  He also got to choose fun accessories to individualize his Wish.  His day finished with ice cream sundaes.  Brendon was smiling from ear-to-ear the entire afternoon.
 

Brendon’s MAW experience has continued with local MAW events and he has become friends with the Norwalk Firefighters.  The Firefighters surprised him one afternoon with a fire engine, a ladder truck and a rescues truck – all to scoop away his old furniture from his house. Since then, he’s spent time at the fire station with the Firefighters having lunch, learning all about their jobs, the trucks, wearing the gear, and even using the Jaws of Life.
 

Brendon’s mother described his Wish as the gift that keeps on giving, day after day.  Brendon has new pets to help him gain some responsibility and independence as well as a new room that he has enjoyed every single day. “Make-A-Wish brought Brendon out of his funk, which was the key all along,” she said. “It gave me my child back.”
