Wish.  A word so small, a word so simple, a word so whimsical it is hard to imagine the extensive impact such a word can have on a person.  And what an impact that person can have on the rest of the world.  The power of a wish is magnified astronomically when a wish from your heart is made to pay such an opportunity forward, to give back to others.  Such an act of selflessness is rare to find, but Tierra is the exception to the norm. 

When the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted Tierra the opportunity to have her one true wish come to life, Tierra could have asked for anything.  But instead of a tropical vacation or to meet a celebrity, Tierra asked for a scholarship to help advance her education.  At the young age of 17, an age where most teenagers are focused on the latest pop sensations and the newest releases, Tierra has a wisdom and maturity that is well beyond her years.  After battling a life-threatening condition, Tierra exhibits a profound courage and strength of spirit that is quite remarkable.  

Tierra wished for nothing more than to grow as a person and help others through her career as a nurse.  Seeing how such special individuals helped Tierra through her fight, she wants to do the same for people facing similar obstacles in their life.  More than just wishing to be a nurse, Tierra wishes to be a hope for someone else.

Tierra is an incredible teenage girl…there is so much more to her than meets the eye. Her extraordinary heart and spirit sets her apart as she chose to use her wish to help others and change the world!
