Meet Logan - six-year-old from Wolcott. Logan is about as energetic and adventurous as any other kid his age, from playing baseball or Legos with his friends, to cheering on the Boston Red Sox in the summer months of the baseball season. But Logan has had to sometimes put his favorite things to do aside, as he is continuing to battle a life-threatening medical condition that has filled his days with doctor appointments, hospital visits, and uncomfortable medical treatments.
But Logan does not let his condition get in his way. In fact, he and his family have tried even harder to continue to do the things that Logan loves, each of them keeping a smile on their faces through these difficult times. Logan and his family have shown an enormous amount of courage, but also an incredible amount of love and support through it all. When Logan found out he could wish for anything in the entire world, he thought long and hard about it. This was a big decision! Logan’s volunteers helped him with some different ideas, and ultimately Logan decided on a dream vacation that not only he would enjoy, but his entire family could enjoy too. Logan’s wish came when he, his brother and his parents were whisked off on a magical journey to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas! the beauty of the Bahamas. He and his brother enjoyed the countless water slides and just being able to play out in the sun from morning till night – something Logan had missed during his treatments. But his favorite moment was, of course, getting the opportunity to swim with a real live dolphin!
Above all else, Logan, his mom, dad and his brother were able to take an entire week of relaxing and smiling, laughing and being a family. For Logan’s family, this was the perfect start to a new chapter in their lives.
