Annie was diagnosed with a life threatening medical condition during her senior year of High School.  At first it seemed that there was no escape from the constant trips to the doctor’s office, however, when she was told she could have one true wish, she knew exactly what to wish for.  Annie has always spent a lot of her free time cooking up a storm and attempting to prepare complex Italian dishes.  Never did she imagine that she would get the chance to have a personal cooking lesson in the beautiful and renowned country of Italy!
Annie and her family traveled to the breathtaking city of Rome and explored the remarkable structures such as the Monument of Vittorio Emanuele, the Colosseum, the Vatican, and even remembered to throw coins into the Trevi Fountain.  Later in the week, they got the chance to spend a full day with Fabio, the owner of “That’s Amore” restaurant, and received a personal cooking lesson.  By the end of the day Annie had made four different types of pasta from scratch including ravioli, gnocchi, cavatelli, and spaghetti!  Her true wish of learning how to cook in Italy had finally come true!
After roaming around the city of Rome, Annie and her family ventured to Florence to spend a few more days exploring Italy.  They toured the city, including the Academia Gallery with the Statue of David and even climbed to the top of the Duomo.  Next stop was a Tuscan cooking lesson in the countryside and a tour of an incredible wine vineyard to finish off their unforgettable trip!
Learning how to cook a true Italian meal from scratch inspired Annie to bring these new skills back to America and continue cooking everything at home!  This magical trip to Italy is a week that Annie and her family will never forget, especially since they took hundreds of photos to capture the incredible experience!
