Lucas, a brave eight-year-old boy, has always been intrigued by mysterious marine life, and never imagined that he would get the chance to explore the deep sea. Ever since Lucas was diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition, he has had to put on a brave face and overcome hardships that no one should have to deal with. However, that did not get in the way of his dream to swim with sharks. When he was asked what his one true wish would be, without hesitation, he said he wished to swim in the ocean with the largest shark in the sea, Whale Sharks.

Lucas, his three brothers, and his parents set off to Cancun Mexico for a journey that they would never forget. When they arrived at their hotel, it was more than they had ever hoped for. From the beautiful Caribbean beach to the outdoor pools, Lucas and his family had a lot to look forward to! The most incredible memory was easily the boat trip out into the deep sea to search for Whale Sharks.

Their fingers were crossed that they would come across a couple of Whale Sharks, and soon enough they discovered a large pod of them! The whole family was able to jump in the ocean and swim with the unbelievably large sea creatures. The sharks they swam with were between 10 and 30 feet long and weighed up to 20,000 pounds! But the large size of these big fish didn’t scare Lucas away. They were even brave enough to go eye to eye with the Whale Sharks, only a few feet away!

Not many people get to experience the thrill of swimming with the largest shark in the sea, however Lucas and his family will definitely never forget the hours that they spent in the Caribbean with one of nature’s most incredible animals – and over one hundred of them! This trip was better than any of them had ever imagined. They had never seen Lucas so excited and happy, as well as speechless, as he was after this unforgettable experience.
