If you are looking for a great way to volunteer this summer while getting some sun and enjoying the warm weather, we encourage you to volunteer at Sunflowers for Wishes! The 10th Annual Sunflowers for Wishes to benefit Make-A-Wish®
Connecticut will take place July 20th through July 28th at Buttonwood Farm in Griswold.
This is the 10th Anniversary of what has become a statewide and New England summer event not to be missed. Crowds from all over the state of Connecticut, as well as visitors from Rhode Island, Massachusetts and beyond will travel to Buttonwood Farms to be surrounded by the beauty of literally thousands of sunflowers and to support Make-A-Wish Connecticut, whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. More than 450,000 sunflowers are expected to bloom on the fifteen acres of farm land. Hayrides through the fields will be available, and sunflower bouquets will be sold for $5 each. Proceeds will directly benefit Make-A-Wish Connecticut and its mission.
Make-A-Wish Connecticut is in need of volunteers to help sell sunflowers each day of the event. Shifts range from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., 12-4 p.m. and 4 p.m. - dusk daily. There is also a great need for volunteers in the mornings from 6 a.m.-10 a.m. to cut and bouquet the sunflowers for the day's sales. Individuals as well as groups and organizations are encouraged to take part. If you or your local organization would like to help out in this year's anniversary event, contact Michael Dominick, Community Relations Manager at email@example.com
