I wish to go to the GRAMMY Awards!

Asia loves everything about music - whether it’s a beautiful ballad or a rocking dance number, music has always played a powerful and healing role in Asia’s life.

Throughout her entire childhood, and most significantly throughout her treatments that would take her away from the typical Friday nights with her teenage girlfriends, Asia resorted to her music to keep her pass the time and to keep her spirits up. So it was no surprise that when she was asked what her one true wish would be, she wished to go to the GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles!

But Asia’s trip to the GRAMMY Awards was far more than just a few seats in the balcony…it was a journey and a week-long experience she would never forget. The trip began with Asia's first chance at feeling like a celebrity, when a beautiful limo arrived at her house to escort the entire family to the airport. According to mom, everyone in the house was running through the house, screaming, “We’re taking a limo to the airport!” What a surprise to start off the trip of a lifetime!

Asia and her family spent their first day in Los Angeles with three other families whose wishes were also to attend the Grammy’s. It was a unique way to celebrate such a momentous occasion, meeting kids who had been through the battle of a life-threatening medical condition just like Asia, and who shared her love of music so much that they too had wished to attend the GRAMMY Awards.

For the next few days, Asia was treated like royalty. She had the chance to attend a private meet and greet with music artist Katy Perry, and she also was given special access to rehearsal for the artists performing at the Award Ceremony, which included The Band Perry, Bruce Springsteen, Carrie Underwood and Tony Bennett. But of course, the best was yet to come.

Asia was treated like one of the stars with a high-end makeover prior to the big evening. She was also permitted to be down on the legendary Red Carpet to have up-front access to all the celebrities as they arrived at the Staples Center. Asia got to say hello to tons of music artists including Adele, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Jason Aldean, Adam Levine, and so many more!

Asia’s trip to the City of Angels for the GRAMMY Awards was an experience she and her family will never forget. Music has always been important to Asia - and now it will hold an even more special place in her heart.

Wish Granted!
It was the trip of a lifetime! ”
