Brooke Gordon Bohnsack, Tracey Yurko, and Steven Wolowitz Join Leadership Team
Make-A-Wish Connecticut is proud to announce that it has recently appointed Brooke Gordon Bohnsack, Tracey Yurko and Steven Wolowitz to its Board of Directors. The mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Bohnsack is the Founder and Creative Director of Statement LLC, a lifestyle brand headquartered in Greenwich, CT. She has served as a co-chair for the chapter’s annual black tie ball, Wish Night (formerly known as The Celebrating Wishes Ball), for four years, during which the event has raised roughly $2 million. As a board member, she hopes to apply her background in event planning and business toward helping the organization exceed its fundraising goals. “I’m incredibly passionate about volunteering in general, and with Make-A-Wish, it feels amazing to know I’m helping make a difference in someone else’s life,” Bohnsack says.
Yurko is the Chief Legal Officer at Bridgewater Associates, LP—a firm that manages approximately $160 billion for roughly 350 of the largest and most sophisticated global institutional clients. Prior to joining Bridgewater, Yurko spent close to a decade with the international law firms, Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP. In addition to serving on the Board of Make-A-Wish Connecticut, she is also a member of The Johns Hopkins Lacrosse Advisory Board.
Wolowitz is a Partner at global law firm Mayer Brown LLP. Prior to joining the board, he was a member of the Wish Night Committee and dedicated supporter of the organization. Wolowitz brings four decades of legal experience to the Board to help ensure the organization remains an excellent steward of funds received. When asked what his one true wish would be, Wolowitz said, “My first instinct would be to make a wish for my family, but if I had to pick a wish just for me, it’d be to serve as Manager of the Chicago Cubs for a spring training game.”
Bohnsack, Yurko and Wolowitz join other Board Members in leading the chapter toward granting a record 250 wishes in the year ahead. Based in Trumbull, CT the organization has granted nearly 3,000 wishes since its inception in 1986.
